Gravitas comes from the Latin word ‘gravis’ meaning heaviness or weight. This is where the word ‘gravity’ comes from.

It’s been used in the world of business to describe a whole raft of qualities; confidence, poise, professionalism, respectability, executive presence.

But how does this relate to the voice?

As an executive voice coach, having worked 1-1 with 1000’s of clients globally, I know from experience that there has to be a balance when it comes to speaking with gravitas.
