Do You Hate Your Voice On A Recording?
The reason for this is the ‘science of the voice’. Because the voice that we hear when we’re speaking is not the voice that other people hear – we may think that we’re deeper and more resonant than we actually are and so we get a bit of surprise when we hear ourselves on a recording.
So my advice before any high stakes pitch or presentation, record yourself and play it back and listen out for your vocal nuances so that you can adjust them.
