A Storytelling Tip
Business stories aren’t told to entertain, there is always an objective, goal or desired outcome.
So, always begin with the end in mind. Ask yourself what is your objective?
Is it to:
– Inspire a room full of people?
– Advocate for a new work process?
– Sell a product or service?
– Win a client?
Don’t just tell a story for the sake of it. Be laser-focused on the “Why”. It has to fit the objective. Once you do this, then the story idea will take shape.
We did just that at my ‘Storytelling For Business’ Masterclass with the wonderful folks at Clyde & Co Hong Kong, honing their narratives into stories that packed a punch.
Thank you for setting this up for us Zoe Houston, and thank you all for sharing such inspiring stories.
