Knives Out – Best Gig Ever!
I’ve coached a myriad of clients for some incredible events over my thirty year career, but this one tops them all.
Recite the eight stanzas of Robert Burns’ “Address To A Haggis”, while flailing a knife, cutting the haggis, brandishing the dagger, raising a glass, AND all the while focusing on cadence, tone, vocal variety and movement and gesture to capture the essence of this great poem.
Yikes! Quite the task.
But nailed by Lindsay Porter OBE, Chieftain of the Hong Kong St. Andrew’s Society.
Fantastic job, well done.
So, the next task is us preparing her other speakers and MC for Burns’ Night in January where there’ll be more knives out, but all in a good way.
