2026 Burns Supper – Slainte
What a privilege to be asked to coach the speakers for the 138th Hong Kong Saint Andrew’s Society Burns Supper.
It was a hoot working with such a colourful bunch of people and I’m still laughing today.
My huge thanks to the Chieftain, Lindsay Porter OBE for entrusting me with this role and to the speakers who were open to my feedback, sometimes mild, sometimes not!
But you all shone in your own way in front of a huge sea of tartan and whisky, so that’s a result in my book.
Thank you Dr Rehana Shanks, Lisa Glasgow, Fiona Cheng and Simon Lowth. And a big shout out to the hysterical David Batchelor for MC’ing the event, great job 👏🏼
But the biggest shout out to Chieftain Lindsay for your sword wielding, haggis cutting and toast giving. Just amazing.
