Well, it’s finally happening – the AI voiceover takeover is here, as this Guardian article describes.

I was recently asked to offer my voice to an AI program that, if I understood correctly from the T&C’s, would harvest the nuances of my delivery (intonation, stress, pace etc) to enhance future AI voice overs.

A one-off fee for a total buyout. I politely declined.

I’ve got many friends in the voice over industry, so I’m certainly not going to be responsible for taking away their livelihoods, all for a quick buck.

Eternally grateful voice over work is no longer my career now. But, also grateful I can use the 1000’s of hours I’ve spent in the recording studio to help the people I now work with enhance their communication skills.
