David was very happy to share his career journey with students at Australian International School Hong Kong, and explain how he got from working on pop videos for Wham, A-Ha and Dire Straits to running life skills confidence programs for teenagers.  He also shared some great career tips:

1. Choose something that you are good at and love.
2. Don’t be afraid to start at the bottom. I swept floors on film sets.
3. Take every opportunity to gain experience (holiday jobs, internships, voluntary work)
4. Ask your parent’s friends for advice, you’ll got lots of ideas.
5. Network to help get you where you want to be.
6. Remember the importance of “soft skills” – communication, confidence in talking to large groups, teamwork.
